About Rana Parsanj
Criminal defense isn’t something Rana Parsanj fell into — it’s what he chose, and has chosen every day since graduating from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2013.
After law school, Rana went straight into public defense, working as a public defender across multiple California counties. He handled everything from misdemeanors to serious felonies — DUI, drug crimes, domestic violence, assault, sex crimes, theft, and homicide — representing clients at every stage from arraignment through trial. He learned the courts, built relationships with prosecutors and judges, and developed the trial skills that only come from handling a high volume of serious cases under real pressure.
Public defense work gave Rana something most attorneys never get: a front-row seat to how the criminal justice system actually operates. He knows how prosecutors evaluate cases, what makes a filing deputy decide to offer a deal or push to trial, and where law enforcement investigations tend to break down. He took all of that experience into private practice when he founded Parsanj Law Group.
Why Criminal Defense
Ask Rana why he does this work and the answer is straightforward: he loves it. Criminal defense is demanding, fast-moving, and high stakes — and that’s exactly what drew him to it. Every case involves a real person facing consequences that can change their life. Getting the right result for that person requires skill, preparation, and genuine commitment. For Rana, that’s not a burden — it’s the point.
Criminal defense, done well, requires a particular kind of dedication. You have to study the law, know the facts cold, and be willing to fight in a courtroom when fighting is the right answer. Rana approaches every case that way — whether it’s a misdemeanor DUI or a first degree murder charge.
